6 weeks today
The Shipley Street Arts festival is getting Ship shape to take on the theme of Rivers and canals for the launch of our festival on Friday 26th June, only 6 weeks away.
Our programme is being put together as we speak and will be launched in the next week. In this we will detail the performers, musicians, workshops, art trail and fringe events happening in and around Shipley over the weekend.
We have been busy with our pre-festival events including the Dockfield Road open day which attracted 200 people to our open studios, the Dragon Boat race at Saltaire park and this weekend we are helping host an Arts and Crafts Day at Windhill community, 16th May, 10-3pm. Don’t Miss Out!
We have also joined up with Leeds waterfront festival to run a joint photography competition along the waterways. Local photographers are encouraged to take part for wonderful prizes. Check out details here: http://www.leedswaterfrontfestival.com/2015-waterfront-photography-competition-launch/
AND if you haven’t seen it yet, we will be bringing this 50ft whale to Shipley. Situated in the car park for Friday and Saturday, storytelling shows take place inside the giant whale structure. The whale brought to us by Circo Rum Ba Ba are a perfect example of the calibre of act we are bringing to Shipley. It sounds like exaggeration, but to see this sort of show, for free, in your own town, is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
The entire programme will be FREE for all, so please share this wonderful event with your networks and help us celebrate a wonderful event coming to Shipley, 26-28th June.
