Windhill Advice Service
Windhill Advice Service is an independent advice service working in partnership with Bradford Citizens Advice. We are an AQS Quality Marked organisation and are regularly audited by the Advice Quality Services, our most recent successful audit was in March 2023. We are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (Ref No: FRN 624804) and are also members of AdviceUK which is the Umbrella organisation for Independent Advice Agencies.
The Advice Service was established in 1992 and was funded by Bradford Council until 2017 at which time we started and continue to provide a service under a subcontract agreement with Bradford & Airedale Citizens Advice.
We offer free, confidential, impartial, independent and reliable advice on a range of topics our main areas of enquiry are benefits, employment, debt, housing, employment, health and disability issues. We dealt with 1,802 clients with over 2,500 individual enquiries between April 2022 and March 2023. In addition, we brought £493.144 into the area in financial gains (helping people to claim benefits and supporting them at appeals), we have stabilised 35 debt situations, which amounted to a total debt of £29,529.
We currently have a team of 3 advisors: Alan Abbott, Shazia Akhtar, Milicia Karagic and an Advice Service Manager, John Cronin, between us we have more than 74 years of experience in the voluntary advice sector.
Our annual customer survey shows that 95% would recommend the service to a family or friend. 100% of people felt the adviser understood their problem and 98 % felt they got information that was easy to understand. We had some fabulous responses as well: –
